We were approached by Recycle Beirut to consult and work on Haela’s home. Haela is a Syrian woman who has suffered displacement as a result of the ongoing civil conflict devastating her motherland. She currently resides in Ouzai, with her four school-aged children, in a minuscule single-room apartment.
Launched and funded by Recycle Beirut and tOD, the project consists of the renovation and overall amelioration of Haela’s home, thereby raising her family’s standard of living to acceptable levels. This project’s uniqueness lies in the ability to the shift in the chances of sustaining the physical and mental health of this family.
